Rhinoplasty

Rhinoplasty is the most frequent aesthetic procedure applied in our country. It is applied to persons who dislike the view of their nose, think their nose not suits the other lines of their face or to the persons who experience accidents or wishing to correct the aesthetic disorder in the face after a respective operation. The nose is just in the middle of the face and any extremeness or asymmetry attracts the looks on the nose. It may then also prevent the reveal of the other beautiful elements of the face. It is observed that the hard expressions of the face is lost after rhinoplasty and the beautiful, but used to be overlooked, other elements happen to be more visible making the face more beautiful.

The rhinoplasty may be performed after the facial bones complete their development; after 16 for the ladies and after 17 for the men. Together with the aesthetic application, if any, breathing problems are corrected.

Through the examinations before the operation, the person is informed about his/her new look with the help of computer. Thus, the person is informed about his/her future view. Each patient requires different applications, that is to say no standard nose of same type is applicable. The naturalness may be protected in rhinoplasty thanks to the advanced techniques and no risk of nose tip falling exists.

It should be kept in mind that the profile view comes as a combination of the forehead, nose, cheekbone, lips and chin. You should examine our pre-operation recommendations very well. Chin or lip aesthetics as an addition to the rhinoplasty will affect the profile image seriously.

Alternative initiatives: Temporary shape changes (in suitable persons) with toxin and filling may be applicable for the persons not having the time for the operation. It is probable to make the nose tip falling and nasal arc less visible while laughing.

The happy lifting (attaching) method enables us to lift the nose tip or narrow the nose in a short time under local anesthesia in case the patient is suitable for these applications. The recovery period is 2-3 days.

Operation: The type of procedure and anesthesia type shall be determined according to the results desired and medical requirements. The surgical procedure may be performed under local or general anesthesia. In general patient does not have to stay in the hospital. Local anesthesia may be preferred in case small procedures to be applied at on the nose tip or on the nose.

I prefer general anesthesia if the procedure is to be applied all over the nose. The incisions are 3-4 mm from the nostrils or from an invisible part. No visible scars are left. The duration of the operation is about 1.5-2 hours. Some ache or pressure may be felt after the operation however no serious pains are observed. It is recommended to apply cold water to the face and to sleep as the head to stay upwards.

I do not use buffers within the nose. The special silicon materials placed in the nostrils enable easy breathing after the operation. The mould on the nose will be taken in 5-7 days and oedema preventive paper bands are placed. Normal daily activities may be performed after 7-10 days.

The patients shall protect their face from the sunlight for 1 month. The swollen parts on the face shall recover in 7-10 days and the swollen zones on the nose shall disappear in 6-10 weeks. The settlement of the final nose shape takes 6 months to 1 year.

The nose should be protected after the bands are removed. Dot no use heavy glasses and the prescribed massages shall be applied regularly. You may start long walks after 2 weeks and normal sports after 3 weeks.
