Easy solution to sweating: We face hot summer days. Although there are many beauties arising from summer time, there are also some drawbacks too. The first of all such drawbacks is sweating. However some persons face this problem even in winters too. Probably you have met with such persons.
Some of the following complaints may be known by you or any friend of you:
* I am afraid to shake hands with persons, this is because my hands always sweat I have to put handkerchief below may hands while I make drawing I may not out my shoes off besides others since my feet always sweat I may not put off my jacket in the meetings due to traces of sweat on my shirt.
* I want to wear open shoes for years, however it was not possible due to over sweating.
* If you have faced such sort of problems or if you have witnessed such complaints by a close person to you, then I’d better inform you about hyperhydrosis. I compiled the most frequently asked questions for you;
What is hyperhydrosis? Hyperhydrosis means extreme sweating in language. The sweating is one of the most important methods that the body perform to cool itself. The persons with hyperhydrosis stimulate more sweat than the normal for temperature control.
There are two types of hyperhyrosis. General hyperhydrosis effects all the body, is rarer and generally related to another disease. The most common type is the regional hyperhydrosis. The armpit sweating consists 30-40% of the complaints. The hand and foot sweating has an important place for the rest of the complaints. It is rare but the face may also be affected. In what frequency is hyperhydrosis seen? A person per very hundred has a form of hyperhydrosis. It generally starts in adolescence and in 20s.
Why does regional hyperhydrosis occur: Its grounds are not clearly known. The relatives of the one over third to a half of the hyperhydrosis patients also have hyperhydrosis. This makes us think about genetic heritages.
What makes the hyperhydrosis in the body? The regional hyperhydrosis originates from overworking of a sort of perspiration gland or from excessive amounts of the respective stimulation in the problematic area. Such perspiration glands are in every part of the body however they are especially frequent in hands, feet and arm pits. People with hyperhydrosis produce high amount of sweat. And this means permanent wetness of the hand, feet, chest or armpit (depending on the problematic area). This may leave the person in difficult situations in social life and may obstruct the daily activities. The smell comes from a bacterium which is generated by the long stay of sweat on the skin.
What can I do for hyperhydrosis? Some actions that you may perform on your own: Choose dresses that will keep you cool. The natural cotton dresses keep you cool however absorbs the sweat and stays wet. Try to change up in the day. Keep your working environment cool and good ventilated. Keep away from the food and drinks that cause sweating. These are relative to individual; you may determine the food and drinks that make you sweat. Stress, anxiety and bothering are general problems. People with hyperhydrosis face extra sweating difficulties under stress or anxiety. Think the ways to eliminate or lessen the stress; plan you activities carefully and spare time for resting.
Is there a treatment? Some doctors may use certain deodorants and spreys for the regional hyperhydrosis treatment; however these have short duration effects. A dermatological method, known as iontophoresis, may be used for hand and feet hyperhydrosis. However this method requires to be applied twice a week and with not so permanent and effective results; thus has a low acceptance by the patients. The most radical treatment is the extraction of the perspiration glands of the problematic areas via surgical intervention. However this method is a tiring solution for the patient and not preferred that much. Also it brings an undesired extreme dryness for the area of application.
We have a new treatment method which we use for regional hyperhydrosis and a medicine that we use in such method with the most successful results: Toxin
What is Toxin? How does it effect? Toxin is a medicine being injected under the skin. It is recommended for hyperhydrosis; it is being used for Arm Pits, Hand, Feet and Face for years. The toxin, which is injected under the skin, now affects the muscle structure surrounding the perspiration glands and prevents the sweat production of the sweat glands for a temporary time. The toxin does not affect the senses of the application area, but only the perspiration glands.
How Toxin is applied? Frequently a local anesthesia cream is used for to prevent the pain in the area of injection. It will be applied to the sweating area with multi needle injectors. A coloring solution may be applied to see the most intense sweating area. The application lasts at most 10 minutes. The person may return to daily activities just after the application.
When it starts to be effective and lasts how long such outcomes? The improvement may be seen within the two weeks after the application. The effects of the toxin continue generally for 4-6 months. Second application shall be performed when the effects seem to last.
If the increase is prevented ın a sweating zone, Will there be a compensating ıncrease in another place of body? The toxin injection reduces the sweating level of the problematic zone to the normal level. Since the problematic zone/area is treated, no additional increase in other zones may be faced.
What happens if I do not continue Toxin applications? The effects of the toxin start to last after a certain period. If you do not continue, no permanent change occurs in the applied areas and the sweating level comes back to the former level, slowly.
