Lipid-Tissue Cocktail Injection

Lipoinjection: The lipoinjection, which has a wide area of use in aesthetic surgery, is also known as lipofilling, fat transfer, microfat injection, tissue cocktail (includes lipid and dermal tissues). The lipoinjection is the transfer of lipid cells taken from a certain zone to another zone of the body. It should be seen as tissue vaccine. During the lipid transfer, also, the body liquids and other tissue cells are moved to the missing zone and accordingly a perfect anti-aging treatment is performed.

Any missing, on any reason, in the lipid tissue that covers the body produces an undesired view on that zone. The lipoinjection applications mean lipid tissue addition/filling to the zones which have missing or weak lipid tissue and obtaining a more appropriate view.

Areas of application The main application areas may be said as: Correcting the body lines, lessening the depth of the wrinkles and lines, filling the lips, making the jaw bone and cheek bones more apparent, making the weak faces more plump, lessening the scars, hand regeneration, hip extension, correction of the leg shape, growing the breast tissues and genital zone operations.

It is used most frequently in the face area for to lighten the apparent face wrinkles due to aging. Lipoinjection may be combined with the face lifting operation and accordingly both may be applied simultaneously. Filling the spaces under the cheeks, making cheek bone more apparent, removing the caving under the eyes, jaw growing for the persons with small jaws, deep wrinkles on the face, filling the skar volumes, making the flat foreheads more oval are some of the frequent applications.

It is one of the most trustworthy methods for lip thickening and contouring. We also use this method for removing the empty volumes within the hips and obtaining a more filled view. No frequent repetition of the liponjection is required for the hips since the permanency rate is much more than the face.

Moreover, it is also used for thickening the thin parts of the legs and removing the crossed image of the legs. This technique, in which the own tissues of the individual is used, is very safe.

I prefer this technique for the breasts but not for general enlargement just for the filling of the small spaces. We remove the image deformation on hands due to the thinning of the tissue under the skin in time. A more filled view makes the hand younger. We also use this technique for penis thickening and making the outer genital organs of the ladies more full.

Action: In lipoinjection, the amount to be taken from the body changes depending on the amount of the tissues on which the injection shall be performed. It may be taken from any part of the body including excessive lipid formation. Since the taken amount is generally very small, no irregularities happen at the end. The operation is performed under local anesthesia. It lasts 30-60 minutes depending on the zone. The lipid is aspirated from 2 mm incision. The taken lipid is transacted with centrifugal device and pure lipid tissue is obtained. With the new method developed by Coleman, the lipid transfer is performed via gradual microinjection using the stout needles not harming the tissue. No worth to attention pain complaints are seen in the post operative period. Slight swollen zones and redness may appear in the injection area. Edema and redness disappear in 2-7 days.

Permanency: The lipoinjection was used to be performed more superficial and since its technical development was not at the zenith, the permanency of the lipid was lesser. The lipid tissue used to be lost in 3-4 months. In general, the permanency of the lipid injection applied to the face for aesthetic purposes is about 40-50 percent. The rest is absorbed by the tissues in time and get lost. The long years of permanency of the face injections is provided with 2 or 3 repetitions in a year. The voluntarily taken lipid may be frozen and kept. My experiences tell me that the permanency of the stored lipids after the injection is lesser. Thus, I usually prefer fresh tissues instead of bank tissues in each session.

The tissue cocktail is different from the lipoinjection where provided by the mixture of the lower layer skin and the porous structures beneath using special liquids. The tissue remnants left after any sort of operation may be used for preparing this cocktail. The dermis layer beneath the skin and underlying lipid may be injected in the form of a micro vaccine.

I prefer to use this material, which is very important for us in lipid taking operation such as liposelection, in the same session for the zones requiring filled view and contour correction.

Fast recovery period, no scars being left behind and latest developments increase the permanency and accordingly me and my patients frequently prefer this implementation.
